The Food Of Hell From Indonesia


Famous as one of the best tropical countries, Indonesia provides tons of uniqueness and excitement. Its nature, culture, and art always bring millions of tourist each year. However, this time we are going to talk about one thing, Indonesia’s cuisine, in particular Sambal.
Sambal is a chili based sauce commonly eaten with other foods.Sambal or sambel is infamous among tourist as the food of hell for its undeniable ability to make the consumer produces tears and sweat when eating. Produced using chili as its main ingredient, sambal is indeed taste extremely spicy.
Sambal is made by grinding ‘cabai’ or chili, along with several complements such as onion, cherry,  tomato, ‘terasi’, sugar, and salt. Some sambal usually use oil to make it taste tastier. The ingredients are grinded using traditional tool made usually from wood or plastic. Beside using traditional tool we can use blender to make the texture is more smooth. The texture is smooth with a vibrant color of green and red, depending on which chili you use.
Infamous among tourists for its spiciness, many tourists avoid it. However, some of them are challenged and try to eat it. Those who dare to try usually will get stomach ache or turn very red and sweaty in the face. Though super spicy, locals eat it in almost daily basis as their main meal.
In Indonesia, there are as many as 300 varieties of sambal. The intensity ranges from mild to very hot. Some varieties include: sambal matah, sambal dabu-dabu, sambal roa, sambal kecap, sambal teri, sambal pete and many more, Each sambal has their own characteristics and uniqueness. The ingridients of each sambal is different depends on the type of the sambal. Usually, locals eat sambal with rice, or noodle, or bakso, or any else.

There are some incorrect information from the text. Based on the trext, the ingredients are grinded using traditional tool made usually from wood or plastic. But, the fact is, the traditional tool is made from wood or stone, not plastic. And then, there are another incorrect information. On the text it said that "Sambal is made by grinding 'cabai' or chili, along with several compliments such as onion, cherry, tomato, 'terasi', sugar, amd salt. But, we don;t use cherry to make sambel, it wasn;t necessary. Another incorrect information is, on the text it said "Though super spicy, locals eat it in almost daily basis as their main meal" actually not every one likes sambel, and sambel is not a basis in main meal, but just a complementer to eat with another food.
